Recent events have taught me that I have a lot to learn about what makes a good Oud, and what a good Oud sounds like. Enter: Yildirim Palabiyik Oud.
In December, I ordered a Yildirim Palabiyik Oud. I’ve been dying to get my hands on one. Anyway, it arrived last month, just as I was leaving the country for vacation.
I got back last week and I was finally able to open up the box. I made a video to show you exactly what kind of quality to expect when you order an Oud from Yildirim Palabiyik.
I didn’t expect that this Oud would be so damn good. It has changed the way I think about what makes a GOOD sounding Oud.
I’ll be honest, I have heard sound recordings of many Ouds. I know what they sound like through a recording. I knew this Oud would sound good.
But I really had no idea just how good it would sound.
It really blew me away. I can’t wait to share some videos with it soon.
For now though, here’s a video of the UNBOXING so you can see just how nicely he packs his Ouds for shipment.
It goes to show that I’m still learning about which Ouds actually sound good. It sounds very different from the Oud I usually use in my videos.
